FIT LIFE is an acrostic for:
- Faithfully
- Intelligently
- Thoughtfully
- Living
- Intentionally
- For
- Eternity
The key Bible verse for FIT LIFE is Mark 12:29 -31 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.”
We have a pledge that restates what FIT LIFE stands for, “I will faithfully, intelligently, thoughtfully live intentionally for eternity.”
Our mission is to forge resilience of character in faith, family, fitness, and friendship.
How we accomplish this is through clubs and events.
Club
The club meets once a week during the school year and serves families with programs for kids and youth from pre-k through high school.
A typical club meeting is an hour and a half and has three major segments.
- Interaction Time (Games)
- Small-Group Time
- Large-Group Time
Interaction Time or game time is age-appropriate activities that are fun and exciting for all.
Small-Group time is a review of the handbook lesson assigned and completed previously with the help of a loving, caring adult.
Large-Group time is the lesson presented in a classroom-style setting with illustrations and activities that bring the small group lesson home – making it real and applicable to live out now.
FIT LIFE is a registered Awana Club.
Events
Events bring the family together to have fun with each other.
There are three types of events that build relationships and godly character.
- Incentive Activities
- Getaways
- Regional Events
Incentive activities are quarterly rewards for club members staying on schedule with handbook assignments. Activities include excursions to the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium, Classic Fun Center, tubing at Soldier Hollow. A progressive Christmas Dinner, Movie Night, and more.
Getaways are a time to focus on milestones in developing youth, such as puberty and forming self-identity. Getaways include three-day retreats like Passport 2 Purity (pre-teen) and Passport 2 Identity (teens). For graduating seniors who earn their Citation Award, a faith-affirming trip to the Creation Museum, and Ark Encounter.
Regional Events are competitions that promote sportsmanship and academic prowess. Regional events include the Scripture Smart Bible Quiz and the Fit Life Circle Games.
